Here’s the deal
May/100
So, I’m going back to my old wordpress blog. I’m in the middle of getting it all set up just how I like it - so stay tuned for a URL change. I’d like to say this it the last time I will switch - but since I’ve already switched like 3 times, I don’t feel like that is a reliable promise. Haha.
Back Up

After being down for a couple of days, I’m back up and running. I’ll be posting later today - so don’t you worry, Becca & Nissi
I AM CRAZY
Mar/101
All week I have been preparing for Cheri & Christy’s visit. They are arriving tomorrow and I just couldn’t be more excited. I am ready for some girl time! I told Nik that I would see him when I crawled into bed each night and to otherwise have a good weekend. Roman Street is playing a ton this weekend anyway, so I doubt he will miss me and my usual Saturday routine.
My week has been filled to the brim. I came off the weekend with about 1500 pictures to edit and sort through. Work is definitely pushing me to the max as I’m working to kick-off my event season with our Egg Hunt next Saturday. On top of that, I decided that I should repaint our old dining room table to lighten up the space. In theory, this was a GREAT idea. However, like almost every household project that I take on, I enjoy the first 1/2 of it and then want to through up my hands at about the midpoint. When I started the adventure of painting the table, I didn’t really consider the chairs and how difficult they would be to paint. I obviously didn’t think this one through, time wise, either. My project that started on Tuesday evening is still at the 1/2 way point, with the deadline of company quickly approaching. I begged my sweet hubby to finish priming the chairs today, so that I could, cross your fingers, finish tonight. I will post pictures soon…if they are worth posting. Ha

My Many Hats
Aug/092
So, everyone has a lot “hats” these days. If we didn’t, we would be bored, right? But do you ever catch yourself wondering how you ever started wearing certain ones?
I would claim the following “hats” presently:
- Wife
- Daughter
- Sister
- Friend
- Aunt to Zeda (and soon Owen!)
- Photographer
- Special Events Planner
- Public Servant
- Youth Pastor Wife
- Singer
- Piano Player
- Small Group Leader
- BUS DRIVER
Yes! My newest hat includes picking up a van full of kids every day after school. I have recently realized (today, as I was driving that van) that I never talk about my job on this blog. Its not because I hate it. I actually think I am really good at my job and usually put my best foot forward. I just, for some reason, feel like there are a lot of other areas in my life that define me in a greater way than my job. My job as a City Special Events Coordinator is pretty broad. I host community meetings at our Recreation Dept, manage all of the class instructors and plan community events throughout the year. I’m also apart of various committees and such. As of April, I sit on the Ruff Wilson Youth Center Board (formerly the Boys & Girls Club). The Club is struggling to stay alive and the Board is doing everything in its power to keep the doors open. I got a call last week from the Director saying that they needed help with transportation. School started this week, and the Club has not gotten a new vehicle (the Boys & Girls Club of Mobile took their bus back after we lost our affiliation with them). So, I have been and will be picking up kids from three different elementary schools this week (and probably part of next week). Its actually quite a nice change of pace (I say that today - the second day of doing it!). It certainly breaks up the day and makes the afternoon go by much faster. And, it is really fun to hear the kids talk and laugh and be silly. The excitement of the new school year is all over them and they are quite adorable. I have learned one thing, though, my kids will be riding the bus - the parent pick-up lines are CRAZY long!!
Monday Thoughts
Aug/092
I had a full, productive, but also restful weekend. We spent Friday night painting our dining room blue. It looks great. I will post pictures as soon as I “finish” the room. I need to get new curtains, and restain our table (ugh).
Saturday, I laid around while Nik cut the grass. It was awesome.
Then we went and led worship in Mobile for “In the Midst.” It was great. And refreshing. And, I just needed it.
Sunday’s main event was HGTV Design Star. Man, I love that show!
This morning, I did not want to get up. I just wanted to lay there forever. But, back to reality. I got to the office, and my ceiling is leaking AGAIN. There is nothing as peaceful as a slow and consistent drip to enjoy all day long….
Well, this is a super random post, and I doubt anyone even cares what I did this weekend (does anyone even read this??), but I was in the mood to write, so I did.
PS. If you haven’t checked out Meg White Photography, please do!
Interesting…

If you are nerdy like me, check THIS OUT. Its a chart on on how people spend their time (minute by minute) during the day. The “religious line” is super small in comparison to everything else. Hmmm…. I wonder what my chart would be like. I don’t know if I want to know. (I found this chart by reading the Unclutterer blog).
On another somewhat related note, my friend Cori writes a blog about all the distractions that keep us from spending time with God. Check it out here, at Modern Arabia.
Discovering Etsy
Jul/091
My old high school friend, Rachel, has a super entertaining blog about life with her with her medical school husband and young daughter. She is always talking about Etsy.com, so I finally checked it out myself and it is awesome. Its everything and anything handmade - its quality stuff. You can get furniture, dishes, clothes, art and on and on. We purchased a painting last night and it was already shipped out this morning! We are putting the painting in our dining room. I can’t wait to get it!

Well, that was quick…

Yay! I’m so excited! I’m in the process of setting up three different shoots over the next month after posting my blog earlier today!!! Thanks so much for the interest!
