Hanging in the Rain
May/100

After spending Friday night grilling out with friends, and Saturday, second-shooting at a wedding, we ended our weekend outside in the rain. Sunday was supposed to be a great day - Roman Street was scheduled to perform on one of the four stages at the 3-day Hangout Music Fest in Gulf Shores. It was the largest music festival ever to be held right on the beach. I had planned my outfit for a perfect suntan - little did I know, I would be hunting down a warm hoodie to buy and a place to seek shelter for about 7 hours. The rain (along with tornado & other storm warnings) delayed the whole event and caused for our stage to be postponed indefinitely. The Festival made the most of it, though, as it opened its doors for free to let all those that would brave the barely-clear weather to see the final acts, like Ray LaMontagne and Ben Harper. We made the best of it, too, enjoying the company of our friends and keeping each other warm (which I certainly didn’t mind. Haha!).
We have a full week ahead of us - high school graduations and Nissi & Brian’s big day. Its a good week for celebrations!

Wow! My busyness hasn’t really stopped since I got home, but that’s ok, because its all been goood stuff! (well, expect for one thing - someone backed into my car at work and left me a pretty nice dent/scratch, but other than that….).
First, I finished the book, Water for Elephants, by Sara Gruen. It was very cool: interesting & unique. There are a few parts that were a little risque, but other than that - thumbs up! I have just started the most wonderful book - Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See. Its about a life-long friendship that starts between two Chinese girls during their foot-binding years. I’m loving it so far.

Anthony & Cynthia’s pics are finished - you can check them out here.

My dear ‘ol friend, Carrie, had me do some pics of her precious Olivia while I was in Springfield. She turns one on Sunday and she is sooo cute. More photos here.

Yesterday, I got to meet Emma Grace, Katie & Micheal’s baby. She is very sweet! So little at just 3 days old! I also booked a wedding in Colorado & its coordinating reception that will be right outside of LA in July! Yay! How fun! Weddings, babies, weddings, babies!
Now…if I could just get to the grocery store….
Katie & Baby

Here’s a pic of my friend Katie & her little girl Emma Grace that I stole off her Facebook. Doesn’t Katie look great? And Grace’s little tongue just sticking out! I can’t wait to meet her! Congrats Katie & Michael! She looks absolutely perfect in every way!

I just had the busiest 4 days of my life since my wedding weekend. It was a non-stop, little sleep, working like a dog weekend. But it was so worth it. I had the best time celebrating so many big life moments. Most of my weekend was documented in photos, so I’m going to try to post as much as possible (and probably send you to my photoblog a couple of times).
Friday was spent at Evangel University’s graduation. Congrats to my baby brother, Andrew, who graduated from college! He makes Anthony & I look so small in this picture!

After graduation lunch, Anthony & Cynthia & I headed out to do an engagement shoot. The images aren’t completely ready yet, but here’s one sneak peak. I’ll post another link later.

On Saturday, we hosted a bridal shower for Cynthia. All the planning and hard work paid off - it turned out beautifully. Lyndsey, Becca & Cheri were amazing! They helped my mom and I pull it all together. I am lucky to have such great friends who go the extra mile for me and my family. You can see more images of the shower here.

Later that day, I shot a few images for my dad. He needed a picture for a magazine article, so I was happy to oblige. You can see a few more pics of ‘ol Tommy here.

I have more to come from my trip: Mother’s Day, Anthony & Cynthia, and Carrie’s Olivia. PLUS all the things that happened in Alabama while I was gone, Katie had a baby girl and Sonya found out she is having a boy! Seriously - this weekend was crazy!
Anxious for September
Apr/100
Although THE girls’ trip isn’t scheduled until September, I am in the midst of all the planning and couldn’t be more excited about it. My “Springfield Girls” (even though only 3 of the 6 of us still reside there), are going to make the journey to one of my most favorite places in the world: Hwy 30A. This little strip of heaven includes the cutest little beach communities - Santa Rosa, Seagrove, Rosemary Beach & Seaside. We are staying in a 3 story house across from the beach in Santa Rosa. Here’s a little sneak peak into what the girls can expect.
They can expect to get in one of these:

And venture out into this beautiful, calm, emerald water:
They can expect to reach all their destinations, like the Amavida Coffee Shop

On one of these:

They can expect an amazing breakfast at The Great Southern Cafe:

Followed by a look at fresh fall produce at the Farmer’s Market

And some pretty great shopping at the cutest little boutiques:

Now, how am I supposed to wait until September for this trip?!
Zeda Girl
Apr/100
It is definitely a Monday for me. I am tired. And kind of cranky. But, hey, at least I can admit it, right? I’m not really sure why I am so exhausted and grumpy - I had a great weekend, most of which was spent sitting on the beach and hanging out with girlfriends. PLUS, I did get to see my Zeda girl - so maybe, posting a pic of her smiling face will help my bad mood disappear.

Meet Ya in Biloxi
Apr/101

Next weekend, Becca & her family will be traveling down to New Orleans. We originally had hoped to spend a good bit of the weekend together since N.O. is only 2+ hrs away. But due to schedules and such, we decided that we’d meet 1/2 way on Sunday afternoon in Biloxi, MS. Although, I’ve driven through Biloxi a few times, I’ve only stopped there once. It was for a Roman Street concert, so for the most part, I was stuck behind the merch table. Plus, it was pretty chilly. I do remember that.
In my mind Biloxi = casinos. But how could I forget that it sits directly on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico? So, even though we probably won’t try to teach Zeda how to play Black Jack on this trip, I’m sure we will find plenty to do. We could take a ferry to Ship Island where we can sun bathe and possibly see a few dolphins. We could check out the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art. Or we could settle into their historic Main Street and enjoy cute shops and eateries.
I can’t wait! Especially to see my Zeda girl.
Weekend With The Boys
Apr/100
I had a great weekend - my brother, Andrew, and his friends were here Thursday - Saturday to hang out and spend some time at the beach. Roman Street played the Fairhope Art Walk on Friday. I laid out at the beach and had a bridal shoot with Nissi on Saturday. Enjoyed a great Easter dinner with Nik’s family on Sunday. AND a killer nap on Sunday afternoon.
Here are a few pics from Friday night - we took Andrew’s friend, Aric, out for his birthday after Roman Street played. I would like to post an image of Nissi’s bridal, but in the spirit of tradition, I’ll wait until her soon-to-be husband has seen her before I show the rest of the world. Maybe I’ll post one later that won’t give anything away.
Update: see a sneak peak of my bridal session here.

If Every Day…
Mar/101
…could be like yesterday, I would be in heaven.
Yesterday was a great day. It was a never-ending work day, but once I slipped out a little early, it was just the greatest day. I met Nik over at Page & Palette for my new fav, Iced Mango Tea, as we waited for the McCrary Fam. They are in town this week visiting Mike’s family and we had a photo shoot scheduled. Nik came along to hang out with Mike and we all enjoyed the beautiful Fairhope weather and scenery for a couple of hours before grabbing yummy Master Joe’s for dinner (Thanks, Mike & Dais!). THEN I got home and my NEW CAMERA was there!!!! YAY!!!!! I was so excited. Hopefully, I’ll have some time tomorrow to play around with it more and am going to try it out on my senior session scheduled for Friday.
Here’s a pic of Nik & Chloe chilling during the photo session last night. Don’t let that sweet face fool you (haha)…. on either of their faces
