Just To Be Fair
Jul/090
So, I have been posting all these pics of Becca & Lyndsey, and I really must say that I feel guilty that I haven’t posted anything of my other super-close friend, Cheri. So, Cher, don’t be mad, but I wanted to post this Hottie With A Body picture of you. I couldn’t help myself. I know you are a pastor and all - but look at you! You look amazing.
I love you!!!

Good Morning World
Jul/090

Good Morning, World.
Apparently there was a huge storm last night, and I slept through the whole thing. I woke up to people’s facebook status’ talking about hurricanes and such. I guess that 1/2 of an Advil PM really does the trick for me. Imagine if I upgraded to a WHOLE pill?!
Nik is gone this weekend. He left yesterday for Nashville to record some of his music. I hate when he is gone. Especially because I haven’t been feeling very well this week. I am pretty sure that my stomach has not gotten along with TWO different restaurants this week. I’m thinking about boycotting anything that I don’t personally make. I took a sick day yesterday, but was bored out of my mind after lunch time. So, I got up off the couch and hung a picture, made peach cobbler (that was my dinner), cleaned a little, and finished editing Brian & Nissi’s engagement pictures (ok, I sat back on the couch for that one).
I’m hardly ever home alone, unless Nik is actually out of town. Somehow, he manages to leave after me and come home before me every day (I feel like I’m getting the shorter end of the deal on that one…). Sometimes being alone (and not working) gives your mind a lot of time to rest and think and wonder and dream. Usually, like most people I’m sure, I end up thinking about the future. I’ve been thinking a lot about photography lately. I really love it, but it seems like one of those things where all the stars have to align for it to really happen as a job/career. Really, it just takes God opening the doors and me walking through them with confidence and faith.
These are just random thoughts…
I really am blessed to have a good job like I do right now. I know I won’t be at it forever, but it is a good experience (even if my schedule isn’t as free as I would like), and I seem to do well at it. I know that my life will change as Nik and I grow older together, as he keeps developing his music, as we keep pouring into our church, I keep taking pictures, when we start a family, etc. Its a world of possibilities out there. We have a full life - a life that is hopefully preparing us for more. I always tell our youth girls that they are practicing for the future. If they can practice making good decisions now, they will be more likely to make good decisions in the future. I think that’s really true. We continually build on the foundation of our decisions and experiences. As I look to our future, I am confident that we are building a firm foundation right now. The things to come will be a result of how faithful we are to what our hands are doing right now, in the present.
It’s exciting to see how our journey keeps unfolding.
Bridal Show
Jul/092
Last night I got the chance to get back in my wedding dress! It still fit!
Nik & I modeled for our friend, Irwin, who is a wedding photographer in the Gulf Coast area. He is participating in a Bridal Show that is being held this Sunday at the Saengar in downtown Mobile. If you are an area bride, you should definitely check out the event and Irwin’s booth. I’ve recently started helping him as a second shooter at some of his weddings. He has a great skill set - I have lots to learn from him…even if he is a Nikon guy.
Check out Irwin’s blog HERE.

Abby will laugh simply by saying “laugh, Abby!” She is just great. Here are a few more from our Thursday shoot.

Sneak Peak: Brian & Nissi
Jul/094
This morning I spent time with some of my favorite people. Brian & Nissi are young, happy, full of life and are set to get married in May. I had a great time capturing them today. The pictures have also given me a chance to play around with Lightroom editing and I love it! Here’s a sneak peak of Brian & Nissi’s pictures. More to come!
